Replace Missing Teeth with Dental Implants
If you are in need of full-mouth reconstruction in the Eastern Shore-Fairhope area or you are tired of the way your teeth look, you may be a candidate for dental implants.
Fairhope Cosmetic Dentistry is proud to offer comprehensive dental reconstruction procedures to patients throughout Fairhope and the surrounding area.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implant procedure requires the placing of an artificial root into your jaw. When you lose a tooth or multiple teeth, you will experience bone loss if there are no roots in your jaw. The roots help keep your jaw and facial line intact.
The artificial root is a cylinder-like post made from titanium that is surgically set into your jawbone. Once the artificial roots are in place, you will need to allow the jawbone time to heal. Recovery time can be anywhere from a couple months up to six months.
Once the jawbone is healed, a temporary dental crown will be affixed to the post while a permanent dental crown is made in our lab. Once the permanent dental crown comes back from the lab, Dr. Boles will then affix it to the titanium post that was placed in your jawbone. The permanent dental crown will act as a natural tooth in your mouth, and you will be able to eat and talk naturally.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?
If you are interested in dental implants, the first thing you will need to do is speak with Dr. Boles. He can consult you and look over your teeth to identify whether you make a good candidate or not. If you are not a good candidate, Dr. Boles will recommend another dental procedure to help restore your teeth and provide you with a beautiful smile.
An ideal candidate for the procedure includes:
- Someone missing one or many teeth
- Someone in good oral health
- Someone who is free from gum disease
- Someone who has enough bone in their jaw
